The Sharing Place is a thrift store which provides
gently used clothing, household items, baby clothes, and children’s
books to area residents at very low prices. The bright and inviting
shop doubles as a community gathering place where neighbors meet
and catch up with one another.
Our neighbors tell us that it gives them the opportunity
to shop with dignity even if they don’t have a lot of money.
Designer items in near-perfect condition can be found at a fraction
of their original cost. There is always a sale going on, like the
“fill a bag for a dollar” sale, allowing everyone the
opportunity to buy quality clothing and household items. The store
offers a lay-away program which lets customers pay in a two-week
period.
Clients often end up working at the store
and learning valuable job skills. All proceeds from the Sharing
Place benefit the many programs of the LSAFHS.
