Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service

Supporting LSA

LSA Family Health Service is a small agency making a big difference in one of New York City’s most impoverished communities, but we could not do so without the intensive support we receive from our generous donors and volunteers.

Each year, LSA must raise more than $2,000,000—or nearly half of our budget—from individuals and foundations. Contributions from donors are essential for our work to continue to meet the needs of East Harlem’s children and families.

Every contribution we receive helps to sustain and enhance LSA’s programs and services, are we are proud to say that more than 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to support our program costs.

LSA is grateful to all of its dedicated supporters, whose generous donations have made it possible for us to achieve our mission and build our capacity to better serve East Harlem’s most vulnerable families and children every day. One remarkable outcome of our supporters’ dedication can be seen in the agency’s building: in 2004, our generous individual and foundation donors helped us to achieve a longstanding dream of housing all of LSA’s programs in a brand-new state-of-the-art facility. That capital campaign raised more than $7 million dollars over five years and enabled us to move into our new building mortgage-free.

You can help us make a difference, and there are many ways that you can partner with us. Every year, LSA conducts an annual fund, accepts gift-in-kind donations, organizes benefit events and welcomes volunteers. You can make a contribution by check or credit card, a gift of stock or a gift-in-kind—and you can volunteer and see for yourself the difference we can make together.
